COZAD — COVID-19 cases are now in Cozad, according to the City of Cozad and Two Rivers Public Health Department.
Two Rivers reports there are 124 cases at the moment in Dawson County.
The city recommends people double down on protective measures, which include:
Stay home: No non-essential errands and no social gatherings, respect the 10 person limit and keep a six foot minimum distance between people.
Wash your hands, sanitize, clean your clothes more frequently. Try to avoid touching your face. It’s okay to take extra precautions such as gloves and face masks; take care when removing and disposing of them.
Socially distance your work. Work from home or use the six-foot rule as much as possible in the workplace.
Shop alone and no more than once a week. Avoid touching items you are not going to buy. To the extent possible, sanitize your purchases when you get home, then wash your hands.
Help children follow social distancing. Play at home. No group sports and no playgrounds.
Help seniors stay home by shopping for them. Do not visit long term care facilities.
Listen and follow the directions of the state and local authorities.
If you or someone in your household feels sick, stay at home. Do not go to work or school. Contact your medical provider.
If someone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19, keep the entire household at home. Contact your medical provider.
If you are a person with a serious underlying health conditions that can put you at an increased risk, stay home and away from other people.

We are at a critical time in the COVID-19 epidemic. We must continue to practice social distancing to help flatten the curve. Please know that this is not over and we need to be safe. As hard as it is, please stay home if possible and avoid large groups.
Any info concerning positive COVID-19 test results will be coming from Two Rivers Public Health Department. You can find them on Facebook or on the internet at: www.trphd.org
The Board of Public Work drive through remains open to pay your bill. You can also pay your bill online at: https://cozadnebraska.net/our-community/utilities/ No water or electrical disconnects will happen in the next 30 days and after that time we reassess the situation. This is for both commercial and residential meters.
Wilson Public Library
This library is closed to the public, but books can be checked out over the phone or digitally by using www.Overdrive.com or the Overdrive app. Patrons may access their accounts online. Instructions are on facebook. Stay posted to the Library’s facebook posts to learn more or you can call them at 308-784-2019.

Our city parks will remain open, but we want people to continue to practice social distancing and remember that the virus can live on surfaces for hours after use.
Cozad Chamber of Commerce
The Cozad Chamber of Commerce office is closed to foot traffic but open by appointment. We are maintaining a list of local businesses with phone numbers and corresponding information. If you have any questions about a business you can call them or you can contact the Chamber office at (308)784-3930, email email@example.com or check out our Facebook page. All events that were scheduled for the next 30 days have either been cancelled or postponed due to the recommendation of the CDC to limit group settings of 10+ gatherings.
Cozad Development Corporation– The Cozad Development Corporation is closed to foot traffic but available by phone to assist with business assistance questions. If you have any questions about unemployment assistance, loans, forgivable loans, and other options you can call Jen at (308)784-8006, or email firstname.lastname@example.org or check out our Facebook page.
Cozad Community School
Grab and Go is available for any child from 1-18. Meals include lunch, afternoon snack, and the next morning’s breakfast at zero charge. The school has 6 pickup locations around town and offers pick up from 11:30-12:30. If you want to sign up your child or if you have questions, please call your child’s school office for any help.
The Backpack Program is available to any students that have received food bags in the past. Pickup will be at the Cozad Elementary School. If you have received bags in the past please ask for one on Fridays during your child’s lunch pickup. For more information please call the Elementary School.
Cozad Volunteer Group
Charitable Fund of Cozad created the Cozad Volunteer Group Facebook page for citizens of Cozad to reach out for help in their time of need. There are forms posted on this page to request assistance and also a form for people to volunteer to help others in need. Please share with others that you know that might be in need of food, clothing, childcare, etc. during these unsure times in our country.
